Cinisello HUB

The project involves the extension of the Auchan Shopping Centre by means of the building of a new multilevel arcade and includes a hypermarket, shopping arcades, medium and large stores, new generation multiscreen cinema, planetarium, large food court and various public and private services, besides a 35,000 square metres office block. The restructured and extended complex is expected to create 1,000 new jobs, mainly for Cinisello Balsamo and North Milan residents, with special attention to women, young people and vulnerable categories.

METRO, BICYCLES AND CAR PARKS

With a private investment of about 70 million euros in total for public works and costs, the interchange hub of regional interest will be built; this is all set to become a real mobility hub. The project includes, in fact, the construction of an interchange car park able to accommodate 1,500 vehicles linked to the M1 terminal and the future M5 station; the covered public transport station, able to accommodate up to 18 buses; taxi stands, a new public mobility square and a bicycle station for 1,500 bikes, the arrival point of a 4,5 km cycle path. The cars will have at their disposal 7500 parking spaces, at the service of the sales and office areas, personal services, and meeting and leisure activities. Of the funds made available to the Municipal Authorities, 16 million euro have been allocated for the acquisition of the Grugnotorto park, as environmental compensation provided for in the Pgt (territorial government plan), the ownership of which the City may acquire through a public procedure. The municipal administration is committed to defining experimental forms of peri-urban agriculture, community gardens, social gardens and meeting and cultural functions.
